Remove an email account from Outlook on macOS


Removing an email account from Outlook doesn't deactivate the email account. Once you delete an account from Outlook, you'll no longer be able to send and receive mail from that account in Outlook.

These instructions are for Outlook for Microsoft 365 for Mac, Outlook 2016 for Mac, and Outlook 2019 for Mac.

Steps to Remove

  1. Open Outlook for Mac.

  2. Select Tools > Accounts.

  3. On the left-hand side of the window, select the account you want to delete.

  4. In the lower left of the Accounts dialog box, click the minus symbol.


  1. Select Delete.
