Access Blackboard Learn Online Courses

Access to Blackboard starts once the user's account is created; access to courses is gained when the instructor makes the course available.

Students enrolled in professional certification programs or senior guests auditing courses may need access to Blackboard Learn. Access to Blackboard Learn requires a KSU FlashLine guest user account.

Help using Blackboard Learn, including tools for students, can be found on the Information Technology Blackboard Learn site:

Step 1. Log in to Blackboard Learn

Please note the following:

  • Google Chrome web browser is recommended
  • Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari web browsers are also supported.
  • Blackboard Learn may be down during scheduled maintenance windows: Sundays from 5am - 7am.

Step 2. Click Log In if you are using FlashLine credentials (certain users may need to click on Log in using other Learn accounts only).

Step 3.  Log in on the next screen.


Step 4. Locate the appropriate course(s)

The first log in to Blackboard Learn will show a screen similar to the one shown below. To access courses, click the Close link.

Courses will appear in the My Courses module on My Institution desktop. Click on the name of the course to open it and begin working.

Note: Only courses in which one is enrolled as a student AND have been made available (visible) by the instructor will appear in the My Course module.
