Introduction
FortiClient VPN is the new VPN client provided by the university. It can be downloaded on university-owned or personally-owned laptops/desktops by visiting the software catalog and searching “FortiClient”, and selecting "View Details":

Find FortiClient VPN in the software list and click "View Details"

The next screen will give you instructions on how to install it on Mac or Windows operating systems:

Per the installation instructions in the Software Catalog, once you have the FortiClient VPN downloaded on your Mac or Windows computer, all you will need to do is login with your username and password and you will be connected. You should not need to enter the connection name, remote gateway, or port number. However, if that info is not automatically populated, edit the connection settings and enter the following info:
- Connection Name: KSU-VPN
- Description: KSU-VPN
- Remote Gateway: ksu.vpn.kent.edu
- Port: 443
Looking for Library Resources?
The FortiClient VPN:
- Will NOT provide access to library resources. This is a change from the Cisco Anyconnect VPN. Library resources should be accessed using the KSU Proxy.
