Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (Student)

  • It is a real-time video conferencing tool that allows adding files, sharing applications, and using a virtual whiteboard to interact.

Getting Started

For best results, access Blackboard Collaborate Ultra on a computer that has a webcam, speakers (or better yet, headphones), a microphone and a reliable internet connection.  Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as they are the recommended browsers for Blackboard Learn.

Instructors will provide a link to Blackboard Collaborate Ultra either within the Course Content or on the left-hand menu.

Click on the link to begin the session, then click on Join session.

The option will be given to use the camera and microphone. Select the appropriate option.

Click the menu button in the upper left of the screen to access phone options, tutorials, privacy policy or to leave the session.

Click the menu button in the lower right to access chat, attendees, screen sharing and settings.

Viewing Pre-Recorded Lectures in Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

To view Blackboard Collaborate Ultra recordings:

  1. Navigate to the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra dashboard. Click on the Menu in the upper left of your sessions and select Recordings.

  2. Select the appropriate video and then Watch now from the Recording Options to view the recording.

  3. When you click on Watch now, you will see the screen below. Click on the indicator to begin viewing the video:
