When I am viewing a PDF document, I am unable to annotate on a PDF because I cannot see the Annotation Toolbar in AppXtender

When viewing a PDF and you are unable to see annotation toolbar, it could be that the setting “User Browser to Display PDF Files” is enabled under your User Settings.

The annotation toolbar can only be used on image files because it superimposes the annotation file on top. In order to annotate a PDF file, you'll have to render the image inside AppXtender and not through the Adobe PDF plugin.

As a workaround, you can go up in the "Text Search" text box and search for a word in order to enable annotation on the PDF like this:

search box is highlighted

After doing a "Text Search", it changes the view:

image of annotation toolbar. Search box has "test" typed in it and it is highlighted

Another solution is to turn off the "Use Browser to Display PDF Files" in your User Settings.

use broser to display PDF files box is checked. text over it says "turn this feature off"

Once that gets turned off, then you will be able to see the Annotation toolbar when a PDF document loads. Instructions for adjusting your User Settings are found here: https://kent.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=80623
