I deleted the Microsoft Authenticator app / I factory reset my phone. How do I setup MFA again?

To set up the Microsoft Authenticator app again after deleting the app or doing a factory reset on your phone. 

  1. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app again on your device

If you have the SMS or phone call options selected:

  1. visit https://aka.ms/MFASetup, and use one of those two options to verify and sign in
    1. If the Authenticator App is set as your default method, click "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now". Then choose the option to text or call.
  2. Go to "Add Method" and select "Authenticator App" and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the set up

If you do not have the SMS or phone call options selected:

  1. Contact the Help Desk at 330-672-4357 to clear your existing MFA configuration
  2. After the options have been cleared, go to https://aka.ms/MFASetup and set up your desired MFA options again
