Upgrade from Legacy Auth to Modern Auth on a PC or Mac using the Outlook desktop application.

 

Check your version of Outlook

Depending on your version of Outlook, you may need to update to avoid a service disruption.

  • Outlook 2016 or newer: No action needed
  • If you have a device that is not capable of updating to Office 2016 or newer, you can still access your email through the web at https://mail.kent.edu 

Delete and Re-add your Exchange/Office 365 Account from Outlook.

Delete an email account

Windows:

  1. From the main Outlook window, select File in the upper left corner of the screen.

 

  1. Select Account Settings > Account Settings.

  2. Select the account you want to delete, then select Remove.

  3. You'll see a message warning you that all offline cached content for this account will be deleted. This only affects content downloaded and stored on your computer.

    Select Yes to confirm.

Mac:

  1. Open Outlook for Mac.
  1. Select Tools > Accounts.

  1. On the left-hand side of the window, select the account you want to delete.
  1. In the lower left of the Accounts dialog box, click the minus.

  1. Select Delete.

 

Setup an email account

Windows:

  1. Select File > Add Account.

 

  1. Enter your email address and click Connect.

 

  1. Enter your FlashLine username and password

  1. Click Yes to allow this account to be used on your device.

  1. Click Done.

 

Mac:

  1. Select Outlook > Preferences > Account.

  2. Click the plus (+) sign > New Account.

  3. Type your email address > Continue.

 

  1. Your email address should be filled in. Enter your FlashLine password.

 

  1. Click Done.
