How do I connect my Xbox, Nintendo, Playstation, Apple TV, ROKU, SmartTV or other game console / entertainment device to the Internet?

You must register your device at the Multimedia Device website.

Chromecast Support

The Chromecast device does not work on the Kent State Wireless network. The device needs to work with WPA2-Enterprise wireless networks. This is a limitation that can only be resolved if Google updates the device. The option of connecting the Chromecast to the Multimedia Devices network also would not work as intended as you need another device (Computer, Tablet, or Phone) to control it. Currently those devices are not allowed to connect to the Multimedia Devices wireless network for security reasons.

My device won’t connect to the Multimedia Devices network. What should I do?

The Multimedia Devices network is only meant for game consoles, entertainment devices and VOIP phones. If you are using a computer or mobile device, please see the KentState Wireless setup instructions.

If your device does not have an option for wireless access (including the purchase of a wireless adapter card), you may submit a request for a wired port in your room. Wired port requests are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of Kent State University.

To open a request: visit http://support.kent.edu, click Submit a Ticket and use Request Type: Network/Wireless Access and Detail: In Room Wired Port Request. You must input the MAC addresses of all devices you want to connect.
